Spinal decompression therapy

A gentle stretch of the spine that changes its force and position, taking pressure off the discs that cushion the bones of your spine.

A model of the spine held in a hand, used to explain the discs between the vertebrae

How it works

Taking the pressure off the spinal discs also takes it off the nerves and the other structures around them, and lets water, oxygen and nutrients move into the discs more freely as they heal.

Who it is for

Spinal decompression is used for:

  • Bulging discs
  • Herniated and extruded discs
  • Nerve pain, numbness and tingling caused by them

Your doctor examines you first and tells you whether decompression suits your condition.
