New patients
Welcome. Here is what to expect at your first visit, the forms to fill in before you come, and the insurance we accept.

Your first visit
- Paperwork and a consultation: your health history, your lifestyle and what is bothering you.
- A physical exam: posture, range of motion and, if needed, orthopedic and neurological tests.
- X-rays only if the chiropractor thinks they are needed.
- The findings, a treatment plan made for you, and usually your first adjustment.

Questions new patients ask
What can I expect during the first consultation?
We talk about your medical history, your lifestyle and your symptoms: what hurts, for how long, and anything else that helps us understand your overall health.
Will there be a physical exam?
Yes. The chiropractor looks at your posture and range of motion and may do orthopedic and neurological tests to find the problem.
Do I need X-rays at the first visit?
Not always. X-rays are taken only if the chiropractor suspects something that needs a closer look, based on your consultation and exam.
Will the chiropractor talk about a treatment plan at the first visit?
Yes. After the exam the chiropractor explains the findings and proposes a plan made for you. It may include adjustments, exercises, advice on daily habits and follow-up visits.
Are adjustments painful?
Generally not. You may feel some mild discomfort or pressure. Tell your chiropractor how you feel, so they can keep you comfortable.
How long does a visit take?
The first visit takes longer because of the consultation and exam. Later visits usually take 15 to 30 minutes, depending on your case.
How many visits will I need?
It depends on your condition. Your chiropractor gives you an estimate at the first visit and checks your progress regularly.
Will I get things to do at home?
Usually, yes: exercises, stretches and changes to how you sit or work, to keep the benefits going between visits.
